Come to my Real Food Fiesta!

food_revolution

I don’t know whether it is Jamie Oliver’s infectious energy and enthusiasm or the desire to get involved in community activism again, but I have found myself in the scary yet exciting role of host of one of the Food Revolution Day events!
We’re putting together a Real Food Fiesta this Saturday in New Cairo. Our event will consist of discussion, games, activities and good, good food for mums and kids.
And we are still the only official Food Revolution Day in Egypt so, if you’re in town, why not come and join us? Contact me for more details.

Masha Allah, there you are, Yvonne! Can’t a girl get a RT?? LOL. The event was great, alhamdulillah, you should have been one of our workshop presenters. Next time, eh?

    Wa alaikum salaam, sis,
Please, don’t judge us too harshly:) We were learning about holistic living, sharing the benefits of eating well with our children and strengthening the sisterhood – all khair.
However, we also collected several kilos worth of dried food to donate to the needy here in Egypt (it was the entrance fee) and we raised quite a bit of money too.
So I pray Allah accepts it from us.

    asalaamu’alaikum,

this is something definitely needed and I actually wrote about this in an article entitled: A Food Revolution for Muslims (http://www.myhalalkitchen.com/2010/04/a-food-revolution-for-muslims/), and talk about it publicly whenever I can. Truly important for Muslims to come back to halal and tayyib.
